Abstract

This study aims to analyze the levels of career adaptability, career planning, and work readiness, while also examining the influence of career adaptability and career planning on the work readiness of Generation Z students in Garut Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive and associative methods. Data were collected through a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire to 100 active students from four universities in Garut Regency selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method assisted by SmartPLS. The results show that career adaptability, career planning, and work readiness are in the high category. Testing the structural model proves that career adaptability has a positive and significant effect on work readiness (t = 4.165, p < 0.001). Meanwhile, career planning shows a positive influence, but is not yet statistically significant (t = 1.790, p = 0.073). The R-square value of 0.704 indicates that the model is able to explain 70.4% of the variation in the work readiness variable.
