Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the development of the Danau Perintis tourist attraction on the income growth of communities living around Danau Perintis, Bone Bolango Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative research design. The research population consisted of 215 residents of Huluduotamo Village. A total of 68 respondents were selected as the research sample using a random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using validity testing, reliability testing, descriptive analysis, normality testing, simple linear regression analysis, and partial testing or the t-test. The results showed that the development of the Danau Perintis tourist attraction obtained an average score of 4.35 and was classified as very good. The increase in community income obtained an average score of 4.26 and was also classified as very good. The results of the simple linear regression analysis and t-test indicated that the development of the Danau Perintis tourist attraction had a positive and significant effect on increasing community income. These findings indicate that tourism development can increase community income by expanding business opportunities, creating employment, supporting MSME activities, and diversifying community income sources. Therefore, it can be concluded that better development of the Danau Perintis tourist attraction leads to a higher increase in the income of communities living around the tourism area.
