Abstract

This research investigates the determinants of employee job satisfaction within the Housing and Settlement Office of Balikpapan City, specifically focusing on work motivation, discipline levels, and the physical work environment. By employing a quantitative framework, the study engaged 53 respondents selected via purposive sampling from a total staff of 67. Primary data was gathered through structured questionnaires and subsequently processed using SmartPLS for multiple linear regression analysis. The empirical evidence indicates that while work motivation and discipline are significant drivers of job satisfaction, the work environment does not statistically contribute to employee contentment. These findings suggest that internal psychological and behavioral factors play a more dominant role than external workplace conditions in this specific administrative context.
