This study aims to examine the effects of job characteristics and perceived training on task performance, with organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) as a mediating variable. Data were collected through an online Likert-scale questionnaire from 274 employees of the Ministry of Finance and analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling with AMOS 25. The results indicate both direct and indirect effects of job characteristics and perceived training on task performance. Perceived training has a significant direct effect on OCB and task performance, whereas job characteristics significantly affect OCB but not task performance directly. Mediation analysis shows that OCB significantly bridges the relationship between both independent variables and task performance. These findings suggest that improving employee performance depends not only on job design and training but also on fostering extra-role behaviors, highlighting the importance of meaningful job design, relevant training, and a supportive work climate.
