Abstract

This study aims to explore the resilience of civil servants (ASN) in coping with high work pressure. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using purposive sampling to select five informants, the head of administration, the head of security, an administrative staff member, and two security staff who work in high-demand and high-risk task environments. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and observations, and analyzed thematically based on the five dimensions of resilience proposed by Connor & Davidson (2003). The findings indicate that ASN employees’ resilience is manifested across five main dimensions. The dimensions of personal competence, high standards, and tenacity were the most prominent, characterized by perseverance, discipline, self-efficacy, and a proactive approach to task completion. The dimensions of trust in one’s instincts & tolerance of negative affect, as well as positive acceptance of change and support networks, also showed strong development. In contrast, the control dimension was moderate, suggesting the need to strengthen emotional regulation strategies. The spiritual influence dimension served as a source of calm, motivation, and meaningful engagement in work. In conclusion, the resilience of civil servants is shaped through a combination of personal, social, and spiritual factors.
