Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the impact of the work environment, workload, and extrinsic motivation on employee turnover intention at Hotel Abadi Malioboro located in the center of Yogyakarta. The basis of this research is the high turnover rate of employees in the hospitality sector which can cause financial losses for companies. This quantitative research data came from 53 employees who were selected using the Slovin formula and analyzed with the Partial Least Square (PLS) technique with the help of the SmartPLS application version 4. The results of data analysis indicate that workload and extrinsic motivation show a significant influence on employees' intention to leave the company, but in this study the work environment does not have a significant effect on the variable turnover intention. Although the work environment did not have a significant effect in this study, good working conditions still have the potential to support employee comfort. Meanwhile, the intention turnover rate is higher when the workload is greater and when the extrinsic motivation received by employees does not match the employee's expectations. It is hoped that this research can contribute to companies in developing effective resource management strategies, especially in the hospitality industry.
