This study aims to examine the implementation of good governance principles at the micro level, particularly in the Government of Ponjalae Sub-District, Palopo City, focusing on aspects of integrity, transparency, and responsiveness toward the coastal community. Good governance is a crucial pillar of effective public administration, especially in coastal areas that face complex socio-economic and environmental pressures. A qualitative approach using a case study method was employed, involving in-depth interviews with local government officials, community leaders, and coastal residents, as well as field observations and document analysis. The findings reveal that the integrity of local officials is relatively strong, as indicated by a high level of public trust, although challenges remain in transparent budget management. Public information transparency is still limited due to a lack of communication media and low citizen participation in decision-making processes. The responsiveness of the local government is considered prompt in emergencies but lacks long-term and systematic planning. These three aspects are closely interconnected and significantly influence the quality of governance at the sub-district level. The study recommends strengthening the capacity of local officials, utilizing information technology, and increasing public participation as key strategies for achieving accountable, transparent, and responsive local governance. The findings provide important insights for the development of local policies based on the principles of good and participatory governance in coastal regions.
