This research aims to identify and optimize rural household empowerment policies based on local wisdom in supporting sustainable food self-sufficiency in Bone Bolango Regency. The study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive and phenomenological methods. Primary data was obtained through observation and in-depth interviews with representatives of the Food Security and Agriculture Office of Bone Bolango Regency, village heads, village consultative bodies, community/customary leaders and representatives of rural household communities. Secondary data was obtained through policy documents and statistical data. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that rural household empowerment policies in Bone Bolango Regency have diverse implementation patterns between villages. Local wisdom such as panggoba, huyula, and molapo still play a role in supporting food security, but experience modernization challenges. Inhibiting factors for synergy include uneven communication and coordination, budget constraints, and differences in community participation patterns. The study concludes that the success of empowerment policies is largely determined by community involvement, especially farmers, in every stage of the program and the integration of local wisdom with modern approaches.
