Abstract

This study aims to map the social conditions in the areas of economy, health, and education in the region and formulate a sustainable assistance model. This study was prompted by the presence of the University of Lampung (UNILA), which significantly influences the social, economic, and health dynamics in the education support area, particularly in Kampung Baru Village, Labuhan Ratu Subdistrict, Bandar Lampung City. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method through surveys, interviews, and field documentation for primary and secondary data. The theoretical framework is based on the concept of the role of higher education institutions in community empowerment and the concept of social mapping as a first step in identifying local potential and problems. Preliminary findings indicate that the economic sector in this area has developed alongside the presence of UNILA students, although challenges remain in the fields of health and education, including low health literacy among women and limited access to non-formal education facilities. This study emphasises the importance of the active role of higher education institutions through the Tri Dharma, not only as academic centres but also as strategic partners in community empowerment around the campus. The conclusion of this study is the need for collaboration between UNILA and the community.
